Wishlist for 0.5


Hey guys,

I have been building my demands/wishlist for what I want to see in 0.5.0 for The Midnight Channel.

As many of you have noticed, there have been a lot more portraits and sprites added this month. This was due to some free time I had last week, which allowed me to power through working on them all. I'm happy to say that now that I have drawn them, I feel like my ship has been rerouted back towards the P4G route. I would like to continue my game's storyline in this direction and try my best to include these characters sooner into the storyline, regardless of whether they can be dateable or not yet. It's just more interesting to write the stories with the characters that we all like to see and hear from, and it really fleshes out the world better when there's more diversity in the cast. Anyway, long rant, but let's get into what the 0.5 update series should be bringing to the table:

Yukiko Amagi & The Amagi Inn My plans for Yukiko are to bring her into the story quickly. So far, she is unlockable as soon as you get the cutscene with Chie about Trials of the Dragon, which shouldn't take the average player too long since it's triggered by going through the starting dialog of romancing Chie. This should ensure that the player gets to see Yukiko sooner in the story, and more importantly, it will allow for the addition of the Amagi Inn.

As in previous games, The Amagi Inn always serves as a nice and simple hub for many things. First off, it's Yukiko's home and residence, so the player can go there to visit their favorite fiery but mostly peaceful girl. Next, it serves as a minigame house where the player gets to give massages instructed by Yukiko. It also serves as a place where the Hot Springs is located, which helps gameplay mechanics by allowing the player to use the sauna and relax their energy once a day—more time in the mine daily now! It also serves as a wonderful storyline loophole where characters who don't have a home can stay and live at the Amagi Inn. In the past, future characters like Maya, Ann, and Sae have stayed there. I will be using this tactic again here.

Yosuke Hanamura & Junes Everyone's favorite prince of Junes is a must-have for these games. As always, Yosuke will be coming into the storyline to open up Junes for the player. This will allow for more purchases the player can make in terms of gifts, storyline items, or even upgrades. By having Yosuke in the storyline, I will also be able to add some much-needed dialog scenes sprinkled throughout Inaba, which I have been wanting for a while but haven't found great opportunities for yet.

Queen Shadow After wrestling with a lot of ideas, I have decided to replace the Queen Shadow sprite with Izanami. This will create a new storyline in the game where Izanami is Queen Shadow for Shadow Inaba, making her the antagonist but also a more prominent character than she has been in my previous games. Something to note: she will not be remembered by the cast, as Izanami has been able to wipe certain memories from their minds.

Chie Satonaka When creating her S-Scene, I made 3 variations of it, yet I only included 1. I would like to finish this section off and allow the player to obtain the other 2, which will involve them upgrading their relationship with her. I'll work on this section and include an upgrade process, and in turn, gain those variations to her S-Scene.

Those are my main focuses for the time being, but I have many more ideas for Margaret, Tessie, and Pixie that I would like to include as well. I just need to see on timing once I get the other work done.

Please let me know if there is something more you would like to see done with the game, but from what I can see, this is a pretty big list to start on.
